‘Verse With A Purpose’

 

I’d say I’m a public issues communicator,
He who ‘cares’ suffice to query, point and doubt,
To observe, report, an intrepid commentator,
‘The Carer’, in the Cotswolds, looking out

I’m a watchdog, and I herein state my purpose –
To act in public interest, so, to highlight
What will have slipped past other carers and their loved ones,
And hopefully prepare them for their fight

(And yet, conversely, if you’ve a mind, and time, to linger,
I write whimsy, so you’re free to pick and choose,
With no attempts, be sure to note, to point the finger
At organisations, just to divert and amuse)

‘You don’t think your take is the one with the monopoly?!’;
No; but State organs can’t be trusted – honest view –
Always to treat us fairly, well and properly;
I am their voice of conscience –
