“The Carer in the Cotswolds”

'Comfort Yourself With This'

If you’re in pain, or in distress, losing your powers,

Not knowing where to turn, and feel discarded,

Left with no doctor’s visit for a whole twelve hours,

Disrespected and neglected, disregarded

Whilst you suffer, all’s amiss, comfort yourself with this –

Levels of care should improve with the taxes that we pay;

But no matter how much we assist, it’s a bottomless abyss –

Of mediocrity, that’s the NHS today
