“The Carer in the Cotswolds”

Do-I-Need-To-Spell-It-Out?

Maybe you’ve come across the self same underhanded tricks
If you yourself have ever written to complain;
Should you have done so, then you’ll know of their self serving, routine fix –
Undermine the issues people raise (in vain).
No such things as caring standards, or accountability,
Disciplinary codes unused, dusty, neglected;
Every ruse employed to fend off liability –
Reinvent the wheel, if need be, sense rejected.
So you think you’ve got them by the short and curlies,
That they’re cornered, and have nowhere left to run;
Alas, they’ll move the goalposts, claiming scope for them to learn is
Now their focus – so that’s that, nothing gets done.
Do not suppose, in short, they’ll ever give up on a case
If there’s the slightest chance to do so would be damning;
No need to spell it out? They’ll just roll out, to save their face,
Guess what? That hoary lie – MISUNDERSTANDING
